Michael Turney

Project Development Manager

In his role as a Project Development Manager, Michael manages the discovery and conceptual engineering process for customer projects. He works directly with customers, internal team leaders, and other project personnel to guide the development process, answer customer questions, and facilitate overall account management.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University Wisconsin-Madison. Before joining SunPeak, Michael gained experience in solar PV project feasibility, energy analysis and PV system design as an electrical engineering consultant working in project design for municipal and industrial facilities.

Michael was drawn to renewable energy for its positive impact on the threat of climate change and has a genuine interest in helping businesses reach their sustainability goals.

In his free time, Michael enjoys archery, fishing, and riding motorcycles in addition to spending time with his wife and young daughter.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project sales support including site assessments, initial analysis and proposal generation
  • System energy forecast modeling and impact studies on facility energy and power
  • Coordinates projects during the transitional phase from sales to project execution
  • Handles all utility interface topics for interconnection and net metering policies
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers on all project development communications.
