Russell is a lifelong learner. His vast knowledge of safety best practices and risk mitigation strategy stems from a combination of advanced training and decades of industry experience with complex jobsite conditions. Prior to working in solar, Russell managed safety for companies in diverse fields such as mining, paper, manufacturing, construction, and other energy sectors including wind, nuclear, oil and gas. He has completed coursework to become a Master Rigger and has journeyman-level training as an electrician, instrumentation tech, and as a millwright. Russell also holds multiple degrees including a Master of Science in Environmental, Health and Safety, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Logistic Critical Reasoning. His advanced safety credentials include certifications as an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500) and a Medic First Aid Instructor, among others.

He has implemented proactive coaching and training as a standard throughout every level of the company.
Outside of work, Russell and his wife stay busy following the varied interests of their three active teenagers. Russell also enjoys serving in his local community. Russell has also provided free self-defense and rape prevention classes.
