As SunPeak’s Director of Engineering, Michael leads the company’s engineering team and provides overall technical leadership for SunPeak’s solar projects. He oversees electrical design, engineering plans, and technical standards, coordinates with electrical subcontractors, and helps ensure electrical considerations are addressed throughout the project lifecycle. Michael works closely with customers, internal team leaders, and project personnel to resolve technical questions, support successful project delivery, and help optimize the long-term performance of SunPeak systems. He also evaluates emerging technologies and helps establish standards for the products and systems SunPeak deploys.
Michael is a native of Watertown, Wisconsin. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, a licensed Master Electrician in the State of Wisconsin, and holds a NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate credential. Before joining SunPeak, Michael gained experience in solar PV project feasibility, energy analysis, and system design as an electrical engineering consultant serving municipal and industrial facilities.
Michael was drawn to renewable energy for its positive impact on the threat of climate change and has a genuine interest in helping businesses reach their sustainability goals. In his free time, Michael enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two young daughters.
