SunPeak is pleased to announce that Tim Paap, Director of Project Execution for the organization, has been named one of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s 2021 “40 Under 40” top professionals in the commercial and industrial building industry.
Candidates for this national award were judged by a panel of industry experts on nine criteria. Areas of focus included superiority in academic and professional training, significance of professional contribution and achievement, personal accomplishments, and community involvement.

Beyond his technical acumen, Tim brings a high level of professionalism and dedication to our work, our customers, and our employees. He is an incredible asset to both our leadership team and our overall organization,” said Chad Sorenson, SunPeak’s President.
As the Director of Project Execution, Tim Paap oversees the engineering, construction management, commissioning, and operations and maintenance (O&M) teams at SunPeak. Tim is an accomplished electrical engineer with expertise in complex interconnection schemes and power system design. In addition to being a NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Solar PV Design Specialist, Tim is also a Master Electrician, a licensed Professional Engineer, and a licensed electrical contractor in multiple states. Of the many aspects of his role, Tim most enjoys participating in customer education initiatives as a presenter and author, providing mentorship to other engineers, project managers and coordinators, and furthering SunPeak’s continuous improvement initiatives. In the community, Tim has contributed to SunPeak’s second-chance hiring and training initiatives.
